DESIGNER CONTRACTS RECOGNISES NEARLY 300 YEARS OF COMBINED SERVICE
Designer Contracts, the UK’s largest flooring contractor, has recognised some 280 years of combined employment in this year’s round of long service awards.
A total of 40 colleagues were acknowledged in the 2025 awards (covering June 2024 – 25), 29 of them who have been with the company for five years or more; two who have clocked up 20 years of service; one who has achieved 15 years; and eight who have worked with the company for 10 years.
Said managing director Peter Kelsey: “Our employees are everything to us and we enjoy really high staff retention rates. As a company we’ve always prided ourselves on seeing every member of staff as an individual and offering training designed to help each and every one of them to reach their full potential.”
Mavis Nelson, office supervisor with the Designer Contracts North West region and Neil Sartain, warehouse manager with the Central Distribution team each received an iPad in recognition of 20 years of service with the company which is also paying for a celebration team lunch in their regional offices.
The 15-years’ service award went to Daniel Jennings. The eight 10-year awards went to: Diana Wiley, Barry Norton, Jason Jeffery, David Walker, Christopher Alves, Leah Cooke, Nick Bury and Marius Mindru who each received a loyalty bonus. The company also celebrated 29 five-year awards which were also recognised with a loyalty bonus.
Each Designer Contract’s region also gets a long service certificate each April which lists the service milestones achieved by its staff, for display in the office.
Said Peter: “We’re delighted that so many of our staff choose to stay with us in what is a highly competitive employment market. It offers our customers a level of continuity not always found in this sector.”
Designer Contracts operates nationally through its network of regional offices. As well as flooring, the company provides blinds and curtains plus furniture and lighting packs.
